Currently I had to migrate a website from a theme called ShoppperPress over to Woocommerce. As a result of this migration the URL structure was going to change for all of the products. A simple solution was to search for a 301 redirect plugin that would allow me to easily point the old URL to the new URL. I was able to easily accomplish this using the Simple 301 Redirect Plugin which can be found here.
I took a bit of data entry as I manually entered 250 old product pages to point to their new location. The plugin worked like a charm. There were two small drawbacks that would have made my life a lot simpler.
1) CSV import. It would be cool to just import a csv or list of URL’s so that all I had to focus on was the new destination URL’s.
2) When adding a new entry I’d have to scroll through all my entries to the bottom of the page. It would have been convenient if the entries were made at the top of the page to eliminate the unnecessary scroll.
If you’re looking for an easy to use 301 redirect plugin this is one that is worth a try. To download it visit the following URL: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-301-redirects/
