If you’re looking to shed some pounds here a list of products I’ve used along my weight loss journey years ago which helped me banish my belly. Exercise and a healthy diet is obviously the key components as the saying goes “abs are made in the kitchen”, however adding supplementation can boost results. I’ve been able to get my body fat as low as 8% and I believe that a combination of these supplements have helped me along the way.
This was one of the first supplements I took when I was trying to lose weight after reading about it online as a supplement to lose weight. CLA is a fatty acid which is commonly found in milk and dairy. Research was conducted on pigs and it was found that the pigs taking CLA developed more lean muscle and less fat. Long term clinical studies have shown that it works the same on humans. This supplement isn’t expensive at all and you can find it at most drug stores or even Walmart. I’ve had a few friends who have also taken CLA and claimed that it’s helped them.
I take 5 grams daily. You can skip the loading phase because that’s proven to be ineffective and probably a marketing ploy by Creatine supplement companies to get you to finish your container quick enough so you can buy more. Creatine is a staple for natural bodybuilders. It’s not like a preworkout where you get a crazy boost of energy before your workout but you’ll definitely notice the difference in strength. There are no side effects to taking creatine. You can get your creatine from meat however you would have to consume a lot of meat to get 5 grams of creatine. The brand of Creatine I recommend is Kre Alkayn by EFX. It’s gluten free which is great for my friends who are Celiacs.
Calcium is usually associated with bone health but studies have shown that those who have taken calcium supplements have shown greater weight loss. This was also covered in the BBC documentary “How to be Slim” where 100% more fat was excreted on the high calcium diet. I’m not a big fan of taking dairy products since it is a very common allergen so I’ll just stick to Caclium in supplement form. It is recomended to take 1000-1200 mg of Cacium daily.
30% of Canadians suffer from seasonal depression due to the lack of Vitamin D from lack of sun exposure during the cold months which is why it’s a great idea to consume it in supplement form during this time. It not only helps with stress but boasts many other benefits including weight loss. My older brother was the one who got me taking Vitamin D after claiming that hit’s helped him become more alert and happy. Since he gave me a free bottle I now take it regularly.
For some reason this is a huge supplement in the Crossfit community according to my friends in Crossfit. Omega-3 fatty acids are usually found in fish. I usually consume a lot of fish in my diet anyways but I still take an Omega 3 supplement in the morning with my breakfast. It has many benefits such as helping with brain function, skin and for weight loss provides stamina and strength.
